Firstport is working with local groups across Edinburgh to find and support people who have a good idea that could benefit their local community.

After surviving a period of anxiety and depression, Eve became aware of how commonplace mental health conditions are in modern society. She was one of the four people to receive £500 seed funding as part of our partnership with Good Ideas Academy at The Melting Pot.

Lily wants to tackle the stigma around mental ill health with Real Talk, a mental health storytelling social enterprise. She was awarded £500 seed funding as part of Firstport's partnership with Good Ideas Academy at The Melting Pot.

Shiatsu practitioner Jenny wants to make touch therapies as a form of health and well-being available and accessible to all. She successfully pitched her idea to receive a £500 seed fund award in November 2016 and a chance to develop it as part of the Good Ideas Academy Class of 2017.

16 year old Annie was awarded £500 seed funding to develop her 'Muirhouse has got talent' project, as part of our partnership with North Edinburgh Arts

Sanel Contreras took part in January's Volunteer Assembly and successfully pitched for £500 to build a community garden at the City Community of Cyrenians in Leith.
