Ten years after its inaugural edition, the Social Enterprise World Forum returns to Edinburgh with the theme 'Inspiring a new decade of impact'. Taking place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre between 12-14 September, the event is set to welcome 1,200 delegates from across the world, bringing together established and young social enterprises, as well as a number of social enterprise support organisations, the public sector and academia.
Josiah joins an impressive line up of speakers from many of the best social enterprises across the globe, including Karen Lynch from Belu Water and Mel Young from the Homeless World Cup.
On joining the forum as a speaker, Josiah said: "I am looking forward to being a part of the conversation at the Social Enterprise World Forum 2018. Social enterprises have the potential to have a great and far reaching impact, but to get there, we need to have open and honest conversations with people from a wide range of backgrounds and different views. This way we can truly start working towards solutions that are inclusive and that get to the root of the social and environmental issues social enterprises are trying to solve.
I am also delighted to see that I will be sharing the stage with a number of Firstport alumni, including Susan Aktemel from Homes for Good, Robbie Norval from Lingo Flamingo, David Duke from Street Soccer Scotland and Celia Hodson from Hey Girls. They are all great examples of determined, passionate individuals who have taken ideas and turn them into impactful social enterprises".
