Growth and Replication Challenge 2

The Challenge is a competitive opportunity that combines bespoke business support with tailored financial backing. Social Investment Scotland are looking for organisations who have developed strategies for growth or replication, are looking for investment between £100k and £1M and need help to make that happen in 2018. Expressions of interest by 11 December 2017.

Nesta ShareLab Fund

Nesta is pleased to announce the launch of this year’s ShareLab Fund, which aims to support early stage organisations to develop and apply collaborative digital platforms to tackle real world challenges. The theme of this year’s fund is “Prevention”. Recognising the intense pressure on local authorities and other public sector organisations, Nesta invite expressions of interest from people with ideas for how collaborative digital platforms can help relieve pressure on existing local public services. These ideas might be focused on preventing social problems from starting, from growing worse, or from creating follow-on needs. Expressions of interest by 05 January 2018.

Greggs Foundation Local Community Projects Fund

Local Community Projects Funding is offered to organisations supporting people in need. They are interested in projects that improve resilience within your community. This can include sessional activities/respite support, equipment for sessional activities, trips and residential breaks. They are also interested in new approaches and innovative ideas as well as sustainable approaches to supporting your community. Deadline 9 March 2018.

Greggs Foundation Environmental Grant

Using money from the 5p levy on carrier bag sales in Greggs shops, the Greggs Foundation's Environmental Grants scheme aims to improve people’s lives in Great Britain. The Environmental Grants scheme funds projects that improve the physical environment in a way that also benefits the wider community. They offer grants of up to £2,000 and concentrate on helping existing not for profit organisations to deliver new projects. Deadline 9 March 2018.

Power up Scotland Programme

Big Issue Invest and partners have launched the Power Up Scotland Programme to develop early stage social businesses through investment, business support and cross-sector partnerships. Power Up is open to organisations across Scotland and has made £750,000 available to lend over the next two years.

Social Enterprise Support Fund - Aberdeenshire

Councillors are supporting the sector with a £200,000 Social Enterprise Support Fund which will be open for applications until March 2019. The fund includes grants for new permanent employees, training, expert advice, and for feasibility studies into new income streams. There is also a grant for the establishment of new social enterprises, and for the establishment new income streams for existing social enterprises. Applications ongoing until March 2019.

National Lottery Awards for All Scotland

The new name for Awards for All Scotland, the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland offers funding from £300 to £10,000 to support what matters to people and communities. Applications are ongoing.

Young Start

Young Start is a grants programme that distributes money from dormant bank accounts. They want to fund a wide range of projects for up to two years that will make children and young people aged 8 to 24 confident, healthy, connected or enterprising. Applications are ongoing.

Circular Economy Investment Fund

The Circular Economy Investment Fund is a funding opportunity for businesses and organisations in Scotland working in all business and social economy sectors. A circular economy is one that’s sustainable, and as much as possible eliminates waste. Applications are ongoing.

Shell Live Wire Awards

£5,000 is given each month to new young social entrepreneurs looking to implement innovative business solutions that meet the energy and resource needs of a growing population. Applications are ongoing.
