May 21, 2013

Are you uninspired by traditional career routes? If you want your life’s work to be less about chasing bucks and much more about being part of something truly worthwhile, come and discover Social Enterprise!

Whether you’re from generation X, Y or Z you’ll have almost certainly wondered whether what you end up doing after graduation will make a difference to world at large - will you create the next Facebook? Will you revolutionise an industry? Will you lead and deliver even more than those before you? Will you wholeheartedly embrace every career opportunity life throws at you? Most importantly - will you have made your mark and will you be proud of it?

Join us for ICAN presents DISCOVER SOCIAL ENTERPRISE – BUILDING A CAREER THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE - an evening of exploration into the exhilarating and uplifting world of social enterprise.

This event aims to showcase the world of social entrepreneurship to students who are looking for more than just a job, but meaningful career prospects!  You’ll hear from three inspirational social entrepreneurs – Josh Littlejohn founder of Social Bite and the Scottish Business Awards; Laura Nicolson co-founder of Velocity Cafe & Bicycle Workshop and Glen Mehn, Managing Director of the Social Innovation Camp and partner at Bethnal Green Ventures – who will share their social enterprise journey so far.

We’ll also be challenging you to have a go at developing your own social enterprise ideas that respond to the social and economic issues that are important to you and your community. There’ll be lots of experts on hand who will be able to help you get cracking on your own journey in social enterprise!

The event will take place on Wednesday 12th June at the Summerhall in Edinburgh. Click here to find out more details and book your place.
