Ann Berry

Ann is a keen cyclist and wants to encourage more people to get on their bikes

With the help of What if…Girvan, she’s setting up a cycle hire hub in the town - Biosphere Bikes.

The hub will help make cycling accessible to more people in the community, regardless of their ability or accessibility issues. She’s developing mapped routes for all abilities and to places of interest, highlighting South Carrick’s cultural heritage.

Ann said: “I want people who don’t have access to a bike or think that cycling is not accessible to them, to realise it can be. Not only will it have health benefits but it will reap rewards for local businesses via tourism. Visitors will be able to explore and appreciate the hidden places across South Carrick that are not accessible by car.”

Ann’s using the support and funding available through What if…Girvan to help get her cycling hub started, developing her business – and bike maintenance – skills!
