Alexa Anderson – Equal Scotland

Alexa founded Equal Scotland, a national equality and diversity organisation. It is an innovative, cost-effective and sustainable social enterprise which incorporates empowerment, advocacy and collaboration.

Equal Scotland researches, identifies and addresses gaps in the equalities landscape. The social enterprise works collaboratively with stakeholders at local and national level. It also champions and sustains essential and impactful programmes, services and partnerships.

Equal Scotland’s beneficiaries include professionals, local communities and service-users.

Their services include:

  • Design and delivery of bespoke training and event packages in a wide-variety of subjects
  • Consultation and advice
  • Community-development projects including the pioneering ‘Survivor Support Scotland Pilot Project’
  • Strengthening and provision of advice/support to equality forums/groups

Alexa receives business support through the Just Enterprise programme. She is now working with Colin, our Edinburgh business advisor, on refining her business plan to continue to develop revenue streams and ensure sustainability. Colin is also helping her with financial forecasting.
