Inverness Kart Raceway

Corrin Henderson’s ambitious plan to build an indoor go-kart track in Inverness has a dual purpose - to provide a secure income and base for his core charity service, Day1 Mentoring, and to help more disengaged young people in the Highlands into employment though a much-needed leisure activity.

The programme will be aimed at 15 and 16-year-olds referred to the charity by secondary schools and provide work experience and training opportunities to help them make positive life choices.

“We aim to work with over 200 young people a year from tough social backgrounds through the Let’s Get Driven programme. It will offer work placements, training and employment opportunities via a community venue that will be also be a safe hub for interaction between young people and community leaders.

“The exciting aspect of Inverness Kart Raceway is that it is a fabulous way to reach young people in the community and give them guidance and support. LaunchMe will really help by giving us peer networking opportunities and support from a business expert in the field – and of course the money helps! “
